Training Outline
Definition:
Front line transactions are used for almost all member interaction. Funds being exchanged is typically completed in the Member Screen, although there are other menu options within the system that provide the same functionality, the basics of teller transactions consist of deposits/payments, withdrawals/advances, transfers, and cashing checks.
IRA contribution/distribution codes and options also available when performing transactions.

Enter the member information in a SEARCH function to locate the account. Highlight the individual and select OK (or double click on the name) to enter the MEMBER SCREEN.

Deposit/Payment
Highlight the sub-share in which the
deposit will be made and select
DEP/PMT
∙ The deposit screen will provide
ability to deposit into other
account.
∙ The payment function is same
as deposit on a loan account.
The deposit screen will appear.
CASH IN: if an amount is entered (and TRACK CASH is on for your user), a pop-up will appear to enter the denominations of the funds being received.
To initiate transaction by entering denominations instead of starting with a total amount, hit the ellipsis next to the amount field for CASH IN.

Enter the monetary denominations and hit
OK.
REMAINING field should be 0.00 if funds
entered on first screen.
Warning- if the funds entered are not the
same dollar amount from the previous
screen, the system will continue and your
drawer could become out of balance.
If single check is being deposited, enter the
amount in CHECK IN. If multiple checks are
being deposited, and on-us check is being
processed, or a HOLD must be placed on the
check, hit the ellipsis button to enter each
check separately and more details.
From a balancing perspective, it is best to enter
each check individually instead of 1 amount as a
total for all checks. As each check is entered,
more boxes will appear. There is no limit as to
how many checks can be entered in the CHECK
ENTRY screen.

From this screen, check(s) can be placed
on hold or processed as On-Us. Highlight
the particular check and hit F3 for HOLD
options and F4 for On-Us processing
options.
HOLD MESSAGES are configured within
the system (See HOLD MESSAGES), use
the drop down to select a hold reason.
This will populate the data regarding
days held. The check amount and
number must be manually entered, but
the other fields are editable if changes
are needed. Hit OK to proceed.
On-Us checks are processed immediately by
withdrawing funds from the system. Credit
Union procedure should dictate how On-Us
checks are processed through Check 21.
Enter the CHECK DIGIT (enter account
number at bottom of check) and CHECK
NUMBER. The system will validate the On-
Us checks and verify if funds are available.
Hit OK to proceed.

When all checks have been
entered, hit OK to continue.
When all funds have been entered, the
amount/account of the deposit can be
entered. Funds can go into multiple
accounts. The default is to process all
funds into the account originally
highlighted for deposit.

Use SPYGLASS to select a different
account and drop down to select
different sub-share. Can be done
on any portion of deposit.
If funds should go to multiple
destinations, edit the amount in the
first AMOUNT box (to that of less than
the total amount) and more boxes will
appear for deposit.
As changes are made to the
amount/deposit, the CASH OUT field
will adjust
If a share/draft/(certificate) account is selected, the available amount will appear, however if a loan is selected (for payment) the payment details and payoff amount will appear for that suffix.
If the payment should be principal only, select the PRINCIPAL ONLY PAYMENT box. Interest will not be taken from payment and due date will not be adjusted.
Can :
When all funds are being distributed to appropriate accounts, to where CASH OUT and NET DEPOSIT is correct, hit POST.

After POST is selected, the
system will process the
transaction.
If CASH OUT was utilized (and
Track Cash is turned ON), the
Cash Out tracking box will
appear. Enter denominations
for funds leaving the drawer
and hit OK.
WARNING- the system does not
stop if the REMAINING is not
0.00.This could cause balancing
issues if wrong totals were
given.
The sub-account will contain history item
for appropriate portion of transaction.

If deposit is for loan payment, the funds
will post in the following order:
Withdrawal/Advance
Highlight the sub-share in which the
withdrawal will be made and select
[W/D]/ADV
∙ The sub account selected is the only
account this withdrawal can come
from. It cannot come from multiple
accounts.
∙ The advance function is same as
withdrawal on a (line of credit) loan
account.
When a loan payment is delinquent the caption below will appear as a reminder to the user whenever money is about to be withdrawn from the account

If there is cash being given to the
member, enter the amount in the
CASH OUT field.
For a CU CHECK, either enter an
amount if the field or hit the ellipsis
button for check details.
The check details will
default to the primary
member on the account.
The FEE will default from
the configured fee, but can
edit.
If check is correct, hit OK to
continue.

Can edit by entering text in fields to change payee/address or use ellipsis to search entity. If entity selected, details from entity record will populate the name and address.
Can check OFAC if not member.
Enter payee name in top field and hit ENTER or LOOKUP. If no matches, select CLOSE to get to check details.
After details of check are
correct, hit OK to navigate
back to Withdrawal screen.

All details for withdrawal will appear.
Can :
∙ Bring an account negative, if account type is set up to allow and if user has permission.
∙ Only 1 check can be printed per transaction. To print multiple checks, must be done in MULT TRAN screen. See MULTIPLE TRANSACTIONS.
∙ Enter MESSAGE (MSG) that will be seen on member history/statement.
∙ Email receipt (if set up for credit union) box will appear to the right of MESSAGE field.
∙ Hide Balances. Will default if unassociated person.
∙ Skip Receipt. Receipt will still generate, but for archive only.
∙ Replace an On-Us check by entering the on-us
check number in the ON-US CHECK # field
Hit POST to continue with transaction.
If Track Cash is turned on for user,
the pop-up will appear to enter
denominations given to member.
Hit OK when REMAINING is 0.00.

The transaction will complete processing and information for record will appear in member’s history/statement.
The Cash & Check will appear in one line, while the fee for the CU check will appear on a separate line.
Transfer
Highlight the sub-share in which the
transfer will be made from and select
XFER
∙ The sub account selected is the
only account this transfer can
come from. It cannot come from
multiple accounts.

Use the SPYGLASS and dropdown to select the correct account/suffix in which a transfer must be made.
Enter a dollar amount and hit the TAB key, this will populate another field.
The fields are similar to that of the DEPOSIT functions. Multiple transfers can be made to accounts (all from the same account).
As the transfer can only come from one account, a transfer TO can only be made one time per account, per transaction.
Error received in the event that a deposit would be made to the same suffix twice. (This is the same during a deposit as well). Hit OK to continue.

Cash Check
Highlight a sub-share and select CASH
CK.
∙ Will place a zero dollar memo
transaction on the primary
savings account only, regardless
of which account is highlighted
when the function is processed.

If only one check, enter the amount in
CHECK IN field.
If multiple checks, select the ellipsis to
enter each individual check.
Enter each check individually. As
checks are entered, more fields will
appear.
Check Holds and On-US checks can
be processed.
The check total will appear in the CHECK
IN field. The FEE field will populate
based on check count and fee
configuration.
The LEFT side indicates the CHECK
CASHING SUMMARY for Today, Last 7
Days, and Current Month.

monetary denominations given to
member for cashing the check(s).
Hit OK to complete.

For a deposit transaction, the drop
down menu should be used to
select contribution code.
For a withdrawal transaction, both an IRA code and withholdings can be selected.
The drop down is used for the IRA code. The Withhold Taxes field as an entire tax withholdings amount. This doesn’t separate state and federal taxes. A separate transaction can be completed for other taxes, if preferred.
If member wishes for a total withdrawal, and the funds to them are minus any taxes, an amount can be entered in the TOTAL WITHDRAWAL and assuming there is a rate or amount in the taxes field the system will calculate how much can be withdrawn.

For a transfer transaction, an

If the transfer is going from an IRA to
and IRA, both line items will have a
drop down IRA associated with each
portion of the transaction.
If an IRA code is entered incorrectly, or needs to be changed, double click on the transaction in the history and the IRA code can be changed by using the drop down and SAVE.
